In his experience he has conducted legal research, been an advisor pertaining to all issues with legal impact, issues of law, policy development, and being a representative in the bargaining council. He has drafted and reviewed policies and ensured compliance with company and government relevant legislations.
Mr Nyawo has developed, reviewed and amended all ER Related policies at Ezemvelo. He has ensured that these policies are implemented fairly and consistently and has also ensured that all other policies even those that are not ER related are updated and have no negative impact on all Labour Legislations. “All the CCMA cases I handled for 9 years were defended successfully,” he said.
In his appointment by the National Prosecuting Authority in January 2012, after spending 6 months in the company he was appointed to act as Director Employee Relations whilst he was still on probation.
Mr Nyawo was born in the northern part of KwaZulu-Natal, in the town of Mtubatuba. He is the third child of Mr Jetroh Nyawo and Ms Bester Buyaphi Mahlanga, both who are late.
In his career and his vision of establishing the Foundation, Mr Nyawo was supported by Zimasa (Zee) MaMtolo Nyawo, Nathi Myeni (Bafo), Aaron & Sizakele MaNyawo Dube, Teekay (Bafo), Nelson Gazu, Xolani Nxumalo (Mkhatshwa), Alpheus Mgenge, Jockonia and Matrinah (MaDube) Mhlanga, Michael and Shirley Cathey (Senatobia Mississippi, USA), members of the Church of Christ in Durban and Mr Mxolisi Nkosi.
